High Build Primer.....Now What?

Sprayed 2 coats of high build poly this weekend (3 quarts on doors, fenders, hood, trunk) and it sprayed pretty well.....no orange peel. Now on to the sanding. My "understanding" is to guide coat and sand 150/220/320 before the next stage of primer. Does this sound right?

Also.....what should I be considering for my next primer? I plan to shoot PPG Deltron base coat. Epoxy? 2K urethane? I'm getting too much conflicting information. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think you mean 3 "coats" of primer on the doors. LOL. I would have shot epoxy first then the high build if needed. The experts will chime in.

150/220/320 will be fine, use more guidecoat in between grits. You can final prime with epoxy or 2K-whichever you prefer-either work just fine. Urethane surfacer sands easier than epoxy but people do like the additional durability of epoxy-it's personal preference.

No.....I meant 3 quarts. Its a roadster so the majority of the car is doors, trunk lid, hood, and fenders.

If you have bare metal after you guildcoat and sand use epoxy next. I always finish with epoxy and then wet sand it 400
