home built booth

I gave up trying to rent a booth and just built one inside my garage.
All framing is built so it comes out in panels(1-5/8" 20 ga steel studs)
It measures 14'x10'x8' with a 7' wide sliding door
The filter wall uses standard 20"x20" tacky spray booth filters
Built a baffle box that fits in a 3-0 opening that holds a water tray to catch exhaust debris, then exiting through a 24" direct drive 1/2 hp motor.
Booth uses house heat and additional heat from garage heater (30,000 btu reznor separate combustion furnace)
Able to run at 70°f with 50° outside air temp.
Also built a moisture trap for air compressor out of 2" sch 40 pipe with two drains running to a filter and coalescing filter 2013-03-14_20-04-23_850.jpg

Awesome job!!!! Only thing I would add is you need to add a desiccant filter, good shopping will get you one in the $150-200 range and then the air will be perfect.

Can you please provided more info about the exhaust, specifically the "water tray to catch exhaust debris"?

How does this work and can you provide additional construction details? Additional photos?

Thanks, Joel

Here is a pic of the box..the idea is to make the exhaust air turn hard through the water before it goes out, and the particles get trapped in the water. When im done spraying i shut the door.
I will try to make a drawing of the box and post it.2013-03-19_21-46-08_173.jpg

exterior of box has adjustable damper for bypass to help regulate airflow in booth .1.jpg
