Hood hinge/general hardware phosphatizing/Parkerizing services offered

I’ve got a nice set up for phosphatizing (aka parkerizing) anything from small bolts to hood latches and hood hinges. Offering this service for those who don’t want to do it themselves. I use a method I created to make them look brand new.

Shoot me a message for rates, it depends on the project. I can blast it but parts that are already blasted are cheaper since less time is involved.

After the metal is phosphatizing / parkerizing, will it rust again, or stop rust from starting?

I would love to have Parkerizing or the look of Parkerizing but have it be more durable, like on bolts just tightening them down creates worn-off spots that will rust.

Well that answers my question.

Thanks,

I know what you’re talking about. I’ve seen that on a few bolts but probably 95% of bolts I tighten down I don’t get that. I’ve parkerized every bolt on this old truck I’m finishing up.

It is a rust preventive coating. I apply either ATF or Boeshield. Right now my hardware is at 2 years without rusting. Periodic reapplication of oil may be required if something looks like it’s drying out or starting to rust.

The phosphate layer on the surface is very porous which is what soaks up the oil.

I was going to try parkerizing on a firearm but didn't get to it yet (its on the list lol). I think I bought materials to do both manganese and zinc.
Which of those are you using?

I’m using zinc. Mine is not a conventional method of Parkerizing. It’s something I came up.
