Hood-mounted washer nozzles

Anyone had a problem with paint knotting up or chipping around the hood-mounted
washer nozzles? I had this happen about 3 years ago on a stripe job and thought I had a solution for the next one. I trimmed the excess paint and clear out of the hole in the hood for the nozzles with an Exacto knife, only pushing the blade down through the hole so as not to be pulling up on the paint. I then trimmed the nozzles slightly to allow for the extra thickness of the paint. The nozzles were not tight against the paint when installed but sufficiently snug to stay in place. So far no problem, but after installing the hood and then the washer nozzle hoses and sitting car in the sun for a day there are some slight "knotting up" around the edges. I know what this will lead to in the future. The hood has the original paint (2008) and I painted on two 10 inch wide stripes (6 coats PPG DBC base [last 2 at 1-1 with SPI intercoat], 3 coats Universal clear, blocked to level stripe edge and flat clear, and 3 more coats of Universal which was sanded and buffed. After each clear session the hood was sanded and set in sun for 2 days. It sat for a week before installing the washer nozzles. I know the problem is from the extra material thickness and the nozzles are not designed for it but I thought I had the problem solved by trimming them. Not so. Also thought maybe the pressure from the attached hoses could be part of it. You guys got any solutions or suggestions? Thanks
