How are you hanging doors for paint

I have a 56 Chevy Panel to paint in the near future. I do not have a paint booth so I need a way to hang my doors (and they are heavy) and be able to move them back inside after painting. Curious what methods folks are using. Pictures would be helpful. Thanks. -Bob

There are pro stands available. But when i helped my buddies paint a VW bug, we just made an A-frame out of 2x4's with some Harbor Freight casters. Worked great.

Thanks for the suggestions - I think I will try and build something that will allow both sides of the doors to be painted.

If you have an engine stand you could build a fixture to mount the doors at the hinge locations

83 dollars on Amazon. I have 2 of them. Well worth the money IMO.

I saw them - some of the reviews said they were pretty flimsy. Did you find them ok?

I paint the doors in two steps.
First the inside gets painted complete.

Then I mask off the inside of the door leaving the just the edges exposed.
I set the door on the edge of a table and use a car battery inside a plastic storage case and bungie cords to hold it in place.

I used to hang them from the ceiling in my old home shack/shop. Now I have 4 of those astro stands and I just hang them on those and they roll around.

Those come with the bumper stand you see in the back corner. But I have made all kinds of attachments for these hanging stands.
