Hello
Question 1: How many days/weeks after you clear can you "dab in" more clear to fix a divot found during wet sanding? what's the procedure?
Question 2: How may coats of clear should I spray to be sure I don't sand thru and have adequate remaining mils, now that I know I seem to get imperfections (divots and runs)
Picture: (Fender - SPI Dark Red with UV Clear) after wet sanding with 1000 grit on a hard block.

Question 1 "Dab" can be done next day to infinity. Clear will sand after "dabbing" much better. UV I would wait a couple days in sun, at least, before sanding. Fill the divot in higher than low spot. Question 2 Way too many variables, but 4 wet coats should give you plenty.

If you put 4 coats of clear on that panel you should be able to sand that out with 1000 and not have any worries. That is unless they were really light coats of clear.

Thanks - I will have to watch next time I paint clear to make sure there are no voids?/ divots?. For this panel, even though I got to believe I am close to sanding these out, I will try to fill a few of with a small dot of clear wait for it to dry then move to 1200 grit.
