How long does universal clear need to dry before masking?

Guys, I just finished spraying all my jambs and plan to reassemble my car for final paint. How long does the UV clear need to cure before I can tape the jambs ? I can get the car in the sun if that will speed up the dry time.
 
thats a loaded question with many answers. cat used, how many coats, how long was the flash between, how heavy were the coats sprayed, humidity level when it was sprayed, temp....and more all contribute. best way to tell is if it feels soft with your fingernail. if so then i would wait.
 
Thanks guys, Jim to answer your questions, low humidity, temp 70 deg, 2 wet coats, 30 min flash time between coats and slow reducer
 
Also the clear is not soft, it was sprayed today. My plan was to give it a couple of weeks to cure more
 
with that info i would say you dont need to wait anywhere near that long. i would say maybe 3 days would be ok. with that said, if the tape leaves marks in the clear all you need to do is warm it up really good with a heat gun and the marks will disappear. the clear will spring back to its original smooth finish.
