How to apply filler on top of filler?

If you have to apply filler in an area and then block it and find you still have low spots, what grit should the first round of filler be sanded with? In my case, it will either be rage gold on top of rage gold or rage gold on top if duraglas.

Excellent. Thanks! And is there any window on reapplying? Or is it pretty much any time after its sandable and sanded with 80?
 
As long as its sanded your good as far as a window there is none that I've ever heard of when in doubt scuff it only takes a sec
 
If the filler has been sitting for a long time (months), sand it to expose a fresh surface, mostly to ensure removal of contaminants or oxidation.
