I have a barely tapped gallon (3L tin) of UPOL 745 Gold Lightweight Filler but it's been about a year since I used it.
The filler stirs up nice and creamy.
The problem is the hardener, it has separated into a blue gel and a clear liquid like water. Try as I might I cannot get it homogenized back together.
A test spread shows it does work but leaves tiny blue "curds" in the filler,,, not good.
My supplier doesn't sell the hardener separately. I found UPOL UPO 724 hardener online and I'm curious if it's compatible with the 745.
Did I read on the forum that hardeners from different manufacturers can be "crossed" in desperation?
I'm kinda' leery of crossing manufacturers products.
With the difficulty of getting some supplies these days I'd hate to lose this filler just because of the hardener.
I do have an email into UPOL and am waiting on a reply.
Thanks, K. Lee
