The only thing I don't like are the peanuts and no bedliner.

Here is where the problems come in, this is all nit picking, I agree, because for instance I love the large mouth lids.. It's just tough to be everything to everybody. And I think Barry and the guys have hit the nail on the head so much that there isn't much left to do. Other than keep up the good work.crashtech said:If the turbo had a bit of gloss like the epoxy, I would buy it.
There is so little to complain about, it seems like nitpicking. But I thought of a couple more things.
The big mouth gallons don't work too well for me with reducer, imo. They are fine for everything else. The amounts of reducer I use are usually small, and the big top likes to give a lot all at once if you are not careful!
I wish pro shops could be given access to mix by weight. My other paint lines all offer this.

Once it drops from the "todays posts", I have to search for it. I really like the option of getting an email link to click on when I post to a forum and someone else adds to it. I have never gotten email notification to a post I am following. That would be awesome. Some forums, I get the email notification, click on it, and Im right back at the post. One click, no searching.

Jorge M.;n78978 said:Ok here's my two cents from using SPI products and from a small jobber point of view:
I think the weakest link in SPI is the spray-ability of some of its primers, specifically the Epoxy primer cratering issue when loaded too heavy, if someone like Jim C that has been spraying it for 15 years has issues with it every now and then, what's to be expected from a painter that tries it for the first time and gets craters with it? That's lost sales and some potentially bad mouthing of an otherwise outstanding primer, some people don't have the patience for a fuzzy product.
If there's a way to tweak the formula and make that problem go away, might be worth to sort it out, it's the only negative comment I get from painters using the epoxy.
Is there a way to make the Regular 2K spray like the HB primer or even better a bit like the Turbo? From what I've seen out there with the shops that demo the 2K Regular it's a 50/50 chance that they will like it, if the shop doesn't have a very clean primer gun with a 1.8 tip, IT WILL BE A NO GO. I've seen many shops spray other 2K primers with dirty, crappy looking 1.6 tip size guns and they spray easier and smoother than the Reg 2K with a decent build. I think the fact that it dries so fast has its drawbacks.
If I get lucky and the shop asks me to demo it, then I can spray it out of my SATA 1.8 Primer gun with ZERO issues, but not many shops care for a clean dedicated primer gun.
Other than that I think the SPI line works extremely well and better than most products out there.

But then there would be a activator issue as they only come in quarts..
However looking over what people want improved is really "peanuts" in comparison to what I see that needs improved with other companies.

#1 spi used the most static filled packing peanuts i have ever seen. i get deliveries here every single day and i have never seen peanuts so bad. i have a spray bottle of water and need to soak each box down just to get everything out. the best thing to sub them out with is the cornstarch ones but they are probably alot more expensive. in any case, anything would be an improvement on those.

We have no choice here if we are to ship without a freight charge, we have gone to a harder peanut toe decrease damage in shipping and the type we are using anti state is not an option at this time, sine we buy a tractor trail full a month appox, down the road we may be-able to get this done.

#2 the epoxy sprayability. it just has to be a solvent change or something. it is very tricky to get it on smooth. generally it doesnt matter since 2k goes over it but you really need to watch your a$$ when using it as a sealer. i have gotten used to it but i have never sprayed any other epoxy that reacts that way. i find the epoxy to be the best out there as far as functionality, durability and corrosion control but ease of use for the painter is bad. i have been able to sell it to every customer i have ever had. some will buy a second gallon but every customer eventually goes back to another product because of spray ability and slightly too glossy. now i dont have a single customer that will use it.
other than those two items i have zero complaints. i think the peanut thing is just nit picky but if another supplier can be found then holy crap man, go for it!
