well edward and i are back to thinking about a 70's streetfreak gasser . inventorying parts looking for a parts car . we have several 460's and even a 454 out of bracket cars . even have a straight axle with re-arched springs up on the hill . if we do it i'm going to do a 60's-70's wild custom paint job . i think i still have my old flake gun :D 11.jpg

Looking forward to watching this project, keep us posted!

it will be a while . i still have my 54 to finish and edwards convert now. they will start as soon as the 56 is gone. i spend all day getting 2 hrs work done it seems. just had to get it out of edwards way since he sold his shop . thats all we could come up with to do with it. neither of us want to go back to racing . too much $$$$$

When I saw the title, I thought you were going to start riding observed trials!

Then I noticed the 3rd gas and thought:

Whatever theme you end up with, there is no doubt it will be sweet .

of all the fads that have come and gone my favorite has always been the street freak gassers . i would dearly love to have my nova back . this 55 ht is an outstanding example . love this car .Good_55_side_photo.jpg

Love those gassers, I remember my jaw dropping when I first saw this British example on the June '78 cover of the UK's Custom Car mag.

Here is a 63 Galaxie that makes it to a lot of the local car shows.

I remember back in the day one of the car magazines featured a car every month that had the highest headlights measured from the ground to the center of the bulb vs stock height.
The cars with straight axles ruled.
Darn if I can remember which magazine it was.

I was in Carlisle PA over the weekend for the Spring show and saw a 40's? Gasser cruise past me. it had a leave under each side in the front and he was riding high! you don't see enough good old school stuff like that anymore.
now i'm sitting in the house with an aching back... I guess i'm old school too.. haha
