iwata purple can problems

What happens with too much pressure with the tekna? The one time I tried silver it mottled like crazy.
 
I've always shot base at lower pressures, so I don't know. I do know it will shoot sealer pretty well at 30.
 
hub was also known as Dr Gun . i have found with the iwata the higher pressures seem to cause trouble with metallic . i dial down to the 16-18 range and narrow the fan a little. to be honest i have found nothing the silver cap wont shoot .
 
Hub once mentioned that the purple cap works best with low inlet pressures as mentioned here, and he also said to open the fluid setting up way more than you normally would for base. Try it at like 15-20 psi inlet and wide open or almost wide open on the fluid and fan, it will end the dry spraying. Still sprays the metallics nice and even
