Jack stands vs ramps.

This FB Market Place find pretty much cured my need for stands. The only thing I didn't like about it was it was either all the way up with safety lock or all the way down. I made an adjustable safety lock mechanism for it so now it has 4 different heights to be locked in at.

This is my safety modification. There is a 5/8" pin that goes through it with a keeper on 4 holes through it.

Sorry, forgot 6000 lb capacity.

Good advice above and agree jack stands are the way to do it. I use 8 jackstands instead of 4 jackstands, 2 on each corner. If you only have one jack stand on a corner and it is not holding any weight because your floor is not perfectly level (which is likely, eh?) then that corner jack can easily slide out. Before I went to 8 jack stands, I was under a Corvette once and accidently kicked out one of the jack stands that was not supporting any weight. Machinists call this corner a soft foot. So, I now use 8, 2 on each corner and make sure they are holding some weight (with a wood shim if needed) so they will not accidently slide out. Hope this helps.
