Judge not, lest I be judged . . . Hot August Nights in Reno

Just got back from Hot August Nights in Reno. Really good time. Literally thousands of classics and street rods gathered for several Show and Shines, and nightly cruise downtown.

Here is the problem: Now that I've learned just a little about body work and paint, it is hard not to evaluate every car and nit pick at the body/paint work.
Direct desert sunlight is brutal, no flaw can hide.
It is also very cool when you come across a spectacular paint job that can stand up to any scrutiny, in any light. Turns out to be pretty rare and is impressive when you see it.

The cars look much better at night during the cruises, in motion, under street lights and with the exhaust rumbling.

I just hope my project turns out well and that those who see it are kinder in their thoughts than I was for many of the cars I saw.
("He brought that to a car show???", "Did they paint it with a brush???", "Ever heard of blocking and guide coat???")

Anyway, it was fun and there were lots of really beautiful, impressive cars there. I'm inspired and can't wait to get back to work on mine.
