LOL - epoxy primer on wicker furniture??

What do you think? I want it to be durable for screened porch and to top coat it with an appropriate oil base in the color of a lady's choice. Any reason not to do it this way? I have some white spi primer left from a recent project. The chair(s) aren't flaking or peeling or anything, the color is just not right... Thanks!

I don't see a problem with epoxy on the wicker, not sure about an oil base top coat, never did that. You need paint that will be flexible.
I have painted wicker furniture for customers two few times. I power washed them, gently, let it dry for a few days then using the biggest nozzle I had (1.7, larger would have been better) sprayed them with good quality 100% acrylic water based house trim paint. I used no primer, most were white on white one time it was white over natural. Held up well they tell me. I gave the customers the left over paint for touch ups, they all appreciated that and I got rid of it. I have too much left over paint here as it is.

the oil will work fine over it. i have used epoxy on wood and all sorts of other non auto uses hundreds of times. works great.

I've used epoxy on a beehive followed by UC. Two years and it looks great. Applied the epoxy right on to the bare wood. I wish I could afford to paint all my hives with SPI.

Hey Barry, do you offer a beehive discount??? :)
