Looking for a Primer Gun!!!

I haven't been on here for awhile and am about to get my G-Body Elcamino sandblasted, I looking to spray SPI epoxy once I get it back home. Is this overkill? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ast-5727/overview/. I sprayed years ago with a siphon gun with good results on a frame and that's it. Also, I have to do some sheet metal repair including welding. Should I wait on the sand blasting/epoxy? I'm going to have to sand the epoxy eventually because of the length of time it'll be before I get to applying filler and high build.

The Iwata's a good gun but there are other quality, lower cost alternatives. I'm sure others with more experience will wade in here but I was looking for a dedicated primer gun a few years back and chose the Devilbiss FLG3 (now FLG4) primer gun with 2 tips, a 1.8 and 2.2. I've shot quite a bit of SPI epoxy and various 2K primers with the 1.8 and am very happy with the results. More recently, I've used the 2.2 tip to shoot Evercoat's Slick Sand sprayable filler. It did a great job. You ought to be able to get the gun for under $200 -- I've seen it on TCP Global for about $185. It's an HVLP gun requiring 23 inlet pressure but my 60 gal. compressor keeps up fine for the way I spray ... I'm a hobbyist auto painter and I'm sorta slow.

as I just posted in the other thread, I have a Iwata 440 and love it for primer.. worth the money. I got mine with the 1.8 tip and purchased a 2.5 tip set for poly primer.

Thanks, I believe I got the idea from your thread. As my screen name states I like to be able to do things just to say I can. The post above yours says that I can get away with a cheaperbut still a quality gun, but from what I've been reading is that the better the guns, the more forgiving the results (to some degree of course).
