MEKP for slick sand

I have an un uesed gallon of slick sand

That and the MEKP is stored in basement.
Its about a year old and i just ordered some resin and extra MEKP from us. Composites
Can i use their MEKP with the slick sand?
Are all MEKP the same??

It might but it could be risky, not worth it of the $2 cost for a tube.

How long is MEKP good for if stored inside?

Us composites said to only order what you are going to use in a 2 month span

I've always told people never chance if a year old but I suspect US composites make their own and may be a stronger blend the the other companies, that has theirs made by Cincinnati company. They should know best.

I will but how do i know if the new mekp hasnt been sitting on the shelf longer than what i have??

"This batch number can be found right at the bottom of the tube where it is vulcanized together. It is just "stamped" in and very hard to read, but it is there.
The batch code is interpreted as follows: The first number is the year, 1=2001, 2=2002, and 3=2003. The second two numbers are the month: 05 = may, 08=august. The last three are for internal purposes. With MEKP you would not want to use any that is over one year old."

I was told by one of the manufacturers years ago that light degrades the MEKP. I keep the tubes in a small box.
