Mini Spray Primer Gun

Im looking for a good quality mini spot spray gun that has changeable tips to handle SPI Epoxy, 2k regular and high build, and Turbo. All the way from low end to high end recommendations appreciated.

I havent seen any mini guns with a big enough tip to handle high build. Biggest tip on a mini gravity feed gun that I've seen is 1.2. I think you would have to mod the tip with some drill bits. A while ago I've come upon a you tube video where the guy modded a $10 purple harbor freight gun to shoot high build.

I wonder what they do with the needle wieh they drill out the tip. If they did not do anything to enlarge the diameter of the needle, I would think paint would leak from the nozzle without the trigger being pulled. I did read that article awhle back.

There's probably still a taper in the needle to not cause it to leak but I'm sure that after the modification there is a hard edge on the cap opening for the needle to rest against. Probably not a big deal though for what would be considered a throw away gun. Many HF guns look like SATA copies.

My old spray gun I used to use for spraying evercoat g-2 (2.2 tip needed) was an old non gravity feed gun from HF. No clue what actual size bit I used, but I slightly enlarged the nozzle opening & it sprayed the heavy coating ok. There was plenty of extra taper on the needle & I had no sealing problems. I twisted the uninstalled needle against the cap after drilling to help with seating.

Are you wanting the small gun to get into small places or just to clean out easier after only using a little product? I guess another option for a small gun would be reducing the product, but spraying more coats with proper flash times of course. You also may be able to get a smaller cup for your primer gun.

Only used a little spi epoxy so far, but I have poured extra back into a mixing cup, masking taped the top shut & put in a plastic bag in the house where it was cooler to re-use later after slightly reducing, taking some of the pain out of small spot priming while doing metal fab work. Had some sit almost 5 days , was fine. Had some sit 2 weeks, turned into a hockey puck.

I have a devilbliss mini pro and a sagola mini, both awesome guns for small hard to navigate places. I just cant bring myself to use high build or poly primers on them. On the lower end, I have a EuroPro with a 1.0 and a1.2 but nothing else available. Its a nice little gun for touch up and small amounts of product. Gets in very tight areas with the small handle and cup. My problem is finding a mini gun that has 1.8 to 2.8 tips and does not fall into the high end price wise.
