Minimum scratch to apply SPI Epoxy?

Hey guys
What's the minumum scratch that I need to make on existing cured epoxy before I shoot another coat of epoxy? Is red scuff pad sufficient or do I need to use sandpaper?

What about filler over epoxy? And how critical for recoat, be it with more epoxy or filler, is it to get into the nooks and crannies. Some of the inside corners underneath the car are just about impossible to get really scuffed...
 
Per the tech sheet you've got 7 days to spray primer or paint without the need for scuffing, Filler sticks like a hotweld to epoxy for the first few days without the need for scuffing but after that it wouldn't hurt to give the epoxy a scuff with 180 before applying your filler just to make sure. JMO
