Mirka dry guide coat

A buddy of mine in SC uses Sharpie markers as guide coat on clear... I'm too scared... ;)

I've used the sharpie method for the initial hard block cut on the clear coat then switch to the dry powder on subsequent grit passes.
I bought a generic brand of dry coat powder off eBay for a lot less than the cost of 3M.
