The intent is to achieve a greater depth to the color. I know that bc/cc is a better choice, but this is a friends project that he has already purchased material for. The problem is that he has no experience in bodywork, and asked me after the fact to lend him a hand. The vehicle will be cut and buffed, so I'm not really concered with the amount of work involved. I just want to help him take his truck to the next level and be able to maintain the integrity of the finish for years to come. He does drive it almost everyday (during nice weather), and with that I think the daily abuse would take it's toll on straight single stage(swirl marks, fine scratches, and the sort) over time. The color is a straight red so would 2 coats of straight concept then 75/25, 50/50, followed by 2 coats of the clear be acceptable. I realize that the paint thickness might be a concern at that point. I have stripped the truck to bare tin, repaired everything that needed attention, and will have it read for paint by next weekend.
