Motorcycle Ride

Rode to San Pedro California to meet some friends, then to Yosemite National Park last week.
Once I was out of Southern California the ride was quite enjoyable and scenery spectacular.

There was a long tunnel through a mountain that we rode through and when we came out the other side this was the view:

There were a number of waterfalls in the area. The big one in the distance is Bridalveil Falls which we were able to walk up to the base of.

That's just breathtaking. Seems like the customary photo of rider-bike-mountain back drop is missing.

i sold my bike. just did not fit i guess. hips hurt after a 50 mile ride. i'll try something different this winter. not really a bagger guy. the deuce was great but i set too low i think. anyway go ahead and torture me with pics. :)

I wasn't a bagger guy either..........until I test rode one. Nothing like a bagger for eating miles in comfort. My Softail is my putt around town bike. Can't have to many.

I was riding this 2000 Ultra Classic, that I purchased and then repainted with SPI Black Black:

I now ride a 2015 Fat Boy Lo. Added a few items for performance and comfort:

The ultra classic was a great bike but very top heavy. Felt like you were in a balancing act whenever you weren't cruising.
When riding the Fat Boy Lo I feel as though I have much better control of the bike.

Like most things, personal preference must be taken into account.

You are absolutely right. My thoughts are the touring bike you feel like you are riding on top of the bike where as the Softail you feel like you are part of the bike.
I have the last year of the Harley Sidecar hitched to a 2011 Limited, all stock except exhaust and air cleaner. And I am on my 2nd 2009 Heritage Softail Classic. Traded the first one regretted it so I bought another years later, same color as the first.

Rode my '04 Heritage Softail to Sturgis 5 times, about a 3K mile round trip.
Finally upgraded to a '17 Street Glide. What a difference!
I like the cruiser frame but not the full on dress like a bagger.
