Hey guys,
I've been lurking around here for a little while now and I figured I would post up my build.
Here's what I started with...
PO fiberglassed the hell out of the rotted floors
Rotted out and patched together box
Before loading the frame up to take down to work and sandblast
Ground off and drove out the rivets for all the spring brackets, etc.. so they could be sandblasted behind
Frame after I brought it home, still loaded with blast media.
Chassis Saver brushed on. I would like to paint the floor for my dad so I wasn't too worried about the chassis saver on it. Looking back knowing what I know now I wish I just coated it with black epoxy and gloss black ppg concept but I was on a very very small budget because I was getting my associates in Computer information systems at college.
New but not perfect cab from Carlisle, PA show
"New" motor with supposedly 4k miles to replace the 6 cylinder that was wore out and came in it.
I sandblasted the cab and put new floor pans in it. I could of sandblasted some more, the firewall especially since I am now stripping it for paint but the floor and underside were all blasted perfectly clean.
Two coats of spi epoxy
I waited until the next day and seam sealed with Fusor 803EZ black. Luckily I had some help on how to smooth it out. Almost hid my floor pan install.
After seam sealing I waited until later in the day and sprayed on UPOL Raptor Bed Liner.
------------------------
Got some goodies from ups and fedex yesterday, aside from the wax and grease remover.
Fenderwell exit headers
Paint supplies, Starting with the firewall so I can get the cab on the frame and going to order the rest after.
Ford Royal Blue Code KM, PPG 4830
I'll post a picture of the chassis up once I get the headers on.
Thanks for all the useful info and build pics you guys post
and SPI for great products!
