I'll chime in here. Although I'm a novice body guy, I was a Green Beret and demo guy on the team. C4 is a cutting explosive (military term is M112). It has a high RE factor. RE factors mean "relative explosiveness" and realitive to what is TNT. TNT is a 1 on the scale and is the base line. C4 is a 1.34. Anything higher than a 1 is used for cutting, lower is used for pushing. Dynamite makes big holes in the ground, it has a lower explosive rate, so its used to push rock and earth. C4 can cut through steel but if you put it on the ground as say a 1 lb. block, it'll look like you just laid down a few M80's. It is really used more for setting off other explosives or breaching. Then you get into shockwave theory and all. As far as spray bedliner for resistance to bullets, it cannot stop the shock of the round. It must be malleable enough to disperse the energy. Kevlar weave is still the best at this. If you want to make a block wall bullet resistant, when we built ranges in other countries, we'd use kevlar weave layered. You can actually buy it online through specialty fabric stores. We also used this to line our vehicle doors in Afghanistan when we outfitted our Toyota Hilux's. It's lightweight and works at dissipating rounds up to 7.62. Hope that helps. Now I'll go back to learning everything I can from you guys.
