need your help creating a custom orange

i know its impossible to tell by the pic. but looking for a ball park color. then i want to add some pearl to give it that custom look.

1. what color do you recommend?
2. as far as the orange goes what pearl color u recommend
3. how much pearl to add

i know its personal preference, but need so advice/professional experience.

Looks like a solid orange with some gold and orange pearl shot over it? In one of the photos the base color looks similar to Hugger Orange.

ppg has a toner called Brilliant Orange(envirobase) and when using a gold pearl on top of it as a tri stage is pretty nice, also ford has a tri stage color I believe the code is uy its a bright color, here is a pic of a friends car in UY

That looks to have more of a red tint to it than the hotrod camaro does.

if you were to add a teaspoon of orange and gold pearl wouldnt that be too much?

You would be surprised how much pearl would need to be added on some colors, hugger orange is a strong color-high coverage so I bet it would take a lot of pearl if added to the paint. There's also different kinds of pearls, sparkle pearls, interference pearls... You could shoot two straight coats of hugger orange then shoot two coats of hugger orange mixed 50/50 with intercoat clear with the pearl added-this would require less pearl for the same effect. Some test panels would be a good idea.

bob thats a great idea. infact i believe thats how they came up with the recipe for the "scar" car.

i was thinking if i put down the hugger orange color then used the intercoat used on the lambo orange over the hugger orange how would that turn out? it has alot of pearl in it. then i really wouldnt have to figure out a recipe for the pearl color.

Have you played with this yet? I'm getting ready to shoot some test panels, probably this weekend, of something very similar, but want more sparkle (it's going on a custom bicycle...). Going to try bright orange metallic dusted with gold sparkle pearl pigment in intercoat clear and also orange candy over a bright silver metallic / microflake dusted with gold pearl in intercoat...
