--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For 12 years our reducers have been the same formula, we pattered out reducers after a company that we thought had the best at the time.

Over the last five years we have seen some company's cut back on the premium solvents because of gas costs, so we reached a point where our formula was no longer close, better now but not close.

Something I have wanted to do for a long time and would not dare do it was make the urethane reducers better yet, I decided first of the year to do that, for years we had Shell and Chemcentral bulk make it for us in totes, so to offset the improvement costs we now make in house.

The new formula is a very rich formula and we got rid of every damn filler that was in there in the past and replace with a premium solvent.

Bottom line, this reducer is the very best of the best and I was not going to say anything but see my next post in Turbo primer.

Barry, i just bought some of the very slow reducer a few weeks ago. Is this the new formula?? Reason is ask is because the roadrunner i just painted with dbc i reduced it with your very slow. Had a few panels left to go and completey ran out but had a gallon of sikkens extra slow on the shelf. I reduced what i need for those panels with the sikkens and i basically had to readjust all the settings on my gun and change a little technique. It just wasn't laying out like it was with your reducer. Seems like the sikkens didn't thin it out quite like yours and the metallic wouldn't flow right (compared to way i was spraying with yours). From now on spi reducer will be the ONLY reducer on my shelf!

not really a big fan of mixing reducers like that but i had to do it given the schedule i have on that car.

Andy thing with a batch number of 02 (Feb) or later would be the new.

I just did the very slow a week ago, slowed it down about 20% from what it had been as my theory is they can mix with slow to speed up but hard for a painter to slow things down..

So far this week end, I have used the 885 in epoxy, Turbo primer, 2K regular primer and it is just unbelievable what it is doing.

I ran the epoxy and the Turbo, thing that is a first for me?????

I had a call today from a shop that uses a standox mixing system.

It seams a customer brought his own metallic base a majors low grade with the reducer.

The painter could not make the metallic right to save his life.
Out of frustration he took the paint left and mixed with the 885 and two coats he was done.

I thought it was great for the shop to call and let me know but I have heard this all before and too many people think reducer is reducer and don't have a clue how important a good grade reducer is.

The ONLY problems I encounter with the 5000 clear is when someone uses omni or nason reducer in it, this is getting to be a weekly thing where I get a call of the 5000 acting up and now the first thing out of my mouth is what reducer did you use. There has been no exceptions to what I just stated with the 5000, got to tell you something.

The 860 sales come to a total halt in late spring, so to answer your question, it was updated starting with the 9/20/10 batch number .

I might want to try it again, I had stopped using thinking it was maybe a bit too fast for how I do things. How would you say the new compares to the old, speed-wise?

Now would be 1/2 way between the orginal 860 and the orginal 870, so a little slower, not a lot but some.

No, this is the high pollutant stuff, LOL

Andy was in San Fran area last week riding with a jobber and every shop that has used our oVOC stuff, said it was the best of all they had tried as far as speeds, yes they are only a few ways to make but there are a 1000 combinations

to me the real test on a 0voc reducer. is slow on a 90 degree day. with metallic control and my trusty makes mettalics harder (shines lph400 love)

samples man, samples.
