It's all been addressed above. this is just a basic web forum, we do not house any personal or financial information on the site. If the site itself were to be hacked the SSL would not be any help. the only real benefit would be if the site was spoofed, ie redirected to another look-alike site. but then that would require the end user to not log in to the site when they get the unsecured connection message. As mentioned before, always keep email and financial passwords separate from things such as web forums, facebook, online merchants, etc.
