Norton Dry Ice

Anyone using the Norton Dry Ice da paper on fresh paint to cut and buff ? Have been somewhat happy 1500 dry then 3000 damp a little less then 3M and this is on newer collision work. Thanks

I have used it. Old stuff was q260. Now the new is q275 i think. I used them both. Unfortunately neither one comes close to the eagle yellow film discs so i never ordered it again. I thought the norton was comparable to 3m preformance wise. Cost a little less. Yellow film last 3 times as long

I concur, recently tried the new Norton vs the good old Eagle and the latter still finished better and kept on cutting longer.

Oh and BTW, talked to a guy that told me to use the Orange assilex disc 1500 instead of the yellow 778-1500 and that it works better that way, less time to a pigtail free finish. Haven't gotten around to test it out yet and I only have two of the orange discs so I'm waiting for a black paintjob to test.

Jorge, i have been meaning to try that out myself. Just keep forgetting when i place my order

Tomorrow I will buff a black Dodge Ram that has 3 coats of Universal, I sprayed it about 6 weeks ago.

I will start with the 778-1000 then jump to the orange Assilex 193-1510, then the bufflex 193-1535/1534. I'll see how it goes, will be trying Menzerna compounds and polishes this time around.
