Who knows? Probably not. Assembly line, there was a downdraft or updraft (not sure which) of a sort on the line pulling the overspray down or up. So it wasn't as bad as you would think. But no respiratory protection meant for issues down the road with their bodies. Combine that with smoking and you have a drastically shortened life.

Chris, you forgot the lead in the paint
That was a pretty common painter/bodyman death in the day along with iso poisoning
and lung problems.

this is amazing. reminds me of the fluoroscope stands they used to have. sit down, put a quarter in, push a button and look thru and see your toes. ..direct radiation to the eye lense which is the most sensitive part of the body....it was common...no one know the damage it was causing.
