paint booth lighting ?

I am interested in what bulbs the pro booths are using.

I am looking at converting over to T8 bulbs, 5000k color. Is this a good choice or should I head a different direction?

Thanks,

been wanting to switch to something better myself. is 5000k color like the daylight fl. bulbs?

Yes 5k is daylight color.
I have a number of T12 fixtures I will be putting in my "booth" and am thinking of switching to the T8 bulbs and ballasts. Either that or stock up on T12 bulbs as they are on their legislated way out.

I will check whats in our Garmat booth when I get to work tomorrow and let you know. Joe

didn't know T12 was being a "gov" controlled issue. when is supposed to happen? need to stock up myself, but the daylight bulbs are $$$.

I have been schooled on this a bit recently and learned that the 5k bulb also will have a cri rating, the larger the number the closer to daylight it is. 100 is daylight .
The bulbs I am planning on ordering are http://www.1000bulbs.com/product/56690/F-32L359.html They are 90 cri and have an output of 3200 lumens initial. Doesn't look like a bad choice for $3 a bulb

bought enough 6500 for paint booth yesterday, probably stock up before July to last for a while. Thanks SOF for letting us know about this. Gov. sure has their nose every except where they should IMO. they are going to make a outlaw out of me yet
