Paint tape edge..

"As I was saying.."
When doing custom stripes with multiple layers I am curious what others use to knock that edge off that builds up when you untape. I have used my nails in the past, sometimes Ill take masking tape and lay it on top then remove it and it will pull the buildup off. I've never had the balls to use a razor.

So I guess I am curious what other methods are out there.

you can unmask and spray a coat of intercoat over the stripe and are then when dry you can lightly run some 600 over it by hand. it was always very rare when i leave a masked edge. i would always clear it, sand smooth then hand pinstripe the edge. not all jobs are like that though. i have also used the masking tape method you mentioned above. sometimes some back and forth with a tack cloth will do it. if you unmask and the edge is clean and not jagged though, i would recommend to leave it then clear coat. sand smooth in a day or two then clear again.

ya, I generally get what I can and don't mess with the rest but sometimes colors like silvers its noticeable. I was just curious if there were any other tricks out there.
