Guys , want to base and clear some panels . I will be doing this in my shop. Temps will be close to 80 but rain is forecasted for the next 3 days which will cause high humidity.Any issues spraying base or clear? Will be using both slow activator and reducer.

I've painted on rainy days, but personally I'd try to wait. I had it bite me once but it was only 60 degrees and about 99% humidity. Was a nasty day that day and it blushed on me.

Thanks, I saw your post and remembered the temps was 60 deg and you used a medium reducer. That’s why I ask due to higher temps and slow reducer and activator.

i cant really answer that one. what you are trying to avoid is it flashing too fast so be sure to keep airflow low as well. dont put a fan on it or anything like that. it will defat the purpose. too fast and things can start to blush. base will do it before clear will. piling on the coats of base with a fast flash will do it so just be sure each coat is flashed really well before you do another.

Jim I have extra slow activator and reducer. How much flash time do you recommend?
In addition to what Jim said, I'll try to give some general guidelines, with basecoat, don't spray wet coats, let it flash a minimum of 30 to 45 minutes between coats. You aren't doing production work so you can afford to let it flash longer. With your clear don't let it flash longer than 30 minutes between coats. Longer you may run into issues. If you have some urethane retarder using 1 ounce per 32 ounces of RTS (ready to spray) clear will help offset excessive humidity. Reduce the Universal up to 10% as well.

Thanks guys for all your guidance! With all the above response just going to wait, It’s been 2 year project and waiting a couple of days more won’t hurt.
