Painting motorcycle headers

“What make, model and year is the bike”

Not really sure of year - big Yamaha is all I really know - he’s taking it apart and bringing me pieces to paint - he circled the chrome piece wanting to know if it could be painted also

My guess is a Yamaha V Star. Possibly in the early 2000s.
Complete factory systems are in the $300 dollar range. A little less than half of what it costs for a Harley.

Curious, how do they coat the inside of the header and is it the full length?
All I ever ran on my bike was chrome drag pipes but again, that was in the 70's-80's.

Most use a long flexible wand with a 360* spray head. Eastwood sells a thermal barrier in a spray can that comes with a 360* flexible wand.

Makes sense, I didn't know if they used a dip tank or nozzel set up.

I don't see how any coating on the inside of a header can be effective as ceramic needs an abrasive blast on the steel to adhere. Just wasting money buying that stuff.
