Panel painting question

I panel painted my 69 GTO a few months ago and I am now ready to start the assembly.

When I removed the doors for painting, they were perfectly aligned so I pulled the pins to remove. The pins are new and unpainted and the hinge springs are blasted and still bare metal.

Do I prime and paint these parts before installing the doors and then touch up any marks on them after the installation? Or is it better to paint them with an air brush after the doors are installed but before the fenders are?

After inspecting the pins and doing a trial fit in the hinges, I think I just answered the question about them. They can't be painted first or the paint thickness would probably keep them from fitting through the holes.
Still not sure about the springs but I'm thinking it might be better to paint those before installing them.

I have painted the springs prior to installation. No issue when using the spring installation compressor.

Thanks Don, good to know.
Not sure whether I shouldn't just brush on paint on the pins over using an airbrush. I tend to think that brushing them would the better way.
