Saw this posted on streetrodding.com :

Hey guys. Thought some of you would want to know what is going on here. Shine went into the hospital Monday to have a small foreign spot removed from his left lung. The doctors really didn't think it would amount to anything but after taking it out and examining, it was determined to be cancer. They proceeded to remove the upper lobe of that lung in hopes of getting it all. I just left the hospital a short time ago. He is in a lot of pain but his spirits are high and he is looking forward to going home. I know from past experience on this site that a lot of you are prayerful and I am sure the porch dog and his family could use all the support and help that only prayer can bring. I will try to keep you posted if anything changes. I am sure that Shine and Becky will appreciate your support.

Darn, if that C knew who it was messing with, it would be long gone! You're just to ornery Shine!
Get well buddy, we need you here!

Thanks for the heads up SOF, I was just thinking this morning as I was reading the forum with my coffee that I hadn't seen a post from him recently... I'll be adding my thoughts to the many for speedy recovery.
I will be praying for him and his family.
2x

I'd offer to help out around the farm if I wasn't on the wong side of the Mississippi.

I had no idea. I'll be sending prayers and wishes his way! Shine's been one of the anchors of this forum from the beginning, I'm sure he'll be back to his ornery ol' self before long!

Sounds like Shine is doing pretty good, I been following him on the link I posted above.

Get better buddy! And get your ass back on here. I still have tech questions I need answered! J/K!

Seriously, glad to hear you are doing better!!!!

will keep him in my prayers.just tell him he's gettin soft in his old age.he'll probably get doctors ok to leave the next day.it's hard to keep us anrwy old coots down for long.

monday morning they used a scope to remove a wedge of my left upper lung. after a biopsy it was determined to be stage 1B lung cancer. so they went back in and removed the upper lobe and some limp nodes. the limp nodes were clear so they got it all. no chemo or radiation from here. just back to my normal regiment of monitoring my health. this is one of the most painful surgeries you can undergo. i most definitely agree. will go home in the morning hopefully. the 4-6 weeks of recovery .

i have a complete physical every year and a chest ex-ray every other year. have done this since i was in my early 20's . because of that we caught it at it's very beginning. i'm gonna die someday but i aint dying from stupid. i quit smoking 20 years ago .
so get your shit checked out or go ahead and buy a tshirt with stupid printed across the front. i wont tell you what i think of those who still smoke......

Shine,
Thanks for the update and glad to hear you are on the recovery road. Take the whole six weeks and if you don't feel like a million bucks, take more time.

Just saw this, and see shine is already posting, can't keep the porch dog down long!!! Glad you are ok shine! Hope the pain gets better soon.

That's great news Shine, and good advice. Glad to see you back. Here's to a speedy recover.

Shine, Good to see you posting and your words of wisdom about the yearly physical ring true. Hope your recovery is fast!

I'm glad they got it all. Good luck to you.
I quit smoking some 15 years ago, when my first granddaughter was born. Cold turkey, and haven't looked back since.
