In order to give others an idea what SPI Red looks like, if you have some SPI Red paint jobs you would like to share, please post them here. Thanks!

Here's two of mine and this is 2 coats of SPI Red over the OEM white paint:SPI Red4.jpg

I apologize for such crappy cell phone pictures, but I think this might give some people an idea of how SPI Red looks like under different light.

It really does look like two colors at times depending on how the light is hitting the car, either way I love this color!!!!!

4 coats on top of white sealer, 4 coats of EURO 2.1.

Is that your Corrado Jorge? Those cars were fun back in the day.

Great looking car.

Yeah, I was dumb enough to rescue it, bough it for cheap, it was basically a shell destined to the junkyard. Then bought another one for parts and out of two I finished one, plus the interior of a VR6 one.

They don't look too bad for being a 20 year old car, they're fun to drive too.

The funny part is when this guy asked me "what kind of red is that, what's the paint code?" I told him to look up SPI red online, because well.... there is no paint code for it, he gave me a funny look and probably thought I was being a dick for not telling him what he wanted to hear.

BTW- We have SPI Red paint chips we can send out via snail mail. Simply call us at 706-781-2220 and we'll stick one in the mail for you.

When posting pictures of SPI Red please let us know what color you sprayed over and how many coats of red. It may be the camera differences but I am seeing different shades of red in these posts.

I'm going to vote camera differences as the main problem. Mainly the White Balance setting makes ALL kinds of deference in color saturation and hues. Here is my attempt to show the "real" color of the tinted white base I'm using.

Inside under lights

outside in the sun

When I get around to shooting the red I'll try and remember to do this again.

My 240Z pics are ealier in the post. Black SPI epoxy primer, grey high build primer, 2 coats of SPI red, 8 total coats of Universal (but a LOT of sanding during the clear!)
