on to my next project. I have a car that has factory oem 20yr old finish. Car has about 3 door dings , other wise its nice shape. Going to play with some dry pearls on it. Oddly enough, I've only really done restoration work and no factory respray so I was thinking of this process
1. Fix all the dings and bruises.
2. Da sand whole car 400 (should I use 600?)
3. Spi epoxy sealer
4. Ground coat
5. Intercoat pearls and tape graphics
6. 3 coats euro
7. Da sand 600.
8. 2 more coats euro.
I guess my question is what grit should I prep the overall factory finish it? Not doing any door jams on this car. Only the outside.
