I don't know the science behind their recomendation but it is easy to put the tubes of MEKP in a box in a cabinet out of any light for storage.
It is unfortunate that you discover the problems only after applied to the work :(.

YES and YES, ALSO, if the package is a plastic container I would date it and never use one over a year old.

There is a way to read the code on the bottom of the tube.. I have forgotten the method.. Also If the job sets and you purchased the primer already, Go spend the small amount of money for 4 new tubes of hardener.. Cheap insurance
 
So I was finally planning to get some color on the car since I have time this 4 day weekend but they keep predicting more days of rain so don't know if that's Going to happen.
At this point everything has been sprayed with two coats of epoxy, several layers of slicksand, then two more coats of epoxy. Unfortunately since I new to this and not very good at the block sanding with the gloss of the epoxy I was able to spot a bunch more imperfections so sanding continued. Now there are sandthroughs through the epoxy back to slicksand or bare metal in several small spots. Im planning on spraying another coat of epoxy over everything, then a reduced coat then the base then the clear.
My question is once I spray the epoxy how long do I need to wait before the base coat? I know the reduced coat can be sprayed like a first base layer but don't know if I need to wait for the regular epoxy coat to cure first.

If those cut throughs are substantial I'd spot them in with epoxy and let it set overnight, lightly sand them the next day and shoot the sealer coat of epoxy.
