Primers and seam sealers

Hi to all. First post here, just wanted to say thanks for all the helpfull info this site has provided. My question is that I finished spraying epoxy on my truck bed and have layed down the seam sealer. Should I epoxy over the seam sealer or can I 2k over it?

Thanks

what type of seam sealer is it? the 2k seam sealers are fine to 2k prime over once it hardens give it a quick scuff..........the 1k stuff, talking urethane here, i have found that you can really only get away with a coat or 2 of primer over it......once you start building up the primer i've seen it start flaking (depends on app of the seam sealer also)......just my experience... i try to use the 2k seam sealer on the exterior panels and the 1k seam sealer, since it is heavier, on inside panels and floors.

epoxy would be a better choice over it though......since the seem sealer stays somewhat flexible.....and the epoxy will stay flexible also.

If you're using ultrapro urethane prime over it the next day-adhesion will be perfect. You could also use the ultrapro MSP version but it's thinner-nice thing about the msp is you can prime imediately while it's wet. Epoxy or urethane primers will work fine. The 1K urethane sealers don't reach full cure for awhile but they are bulletproof/time tested.

I'm using Lord Fusor 129 which is a fast curing 2 part sealer for the floors of my bed and exterior seams. Also Lord Fusor 803ez which is a 1 part sealer for areas that will not be visible

I've used the 803EZ-good stuff-prime it the next day. Many of the two part sealers can be primed soon after application-check the tech sheet for the 129 on Lord Fusor's website and it'll say what the cure time should be. Or just scuff it with a maroon scotchbrite once it's fully cured. You'll find the sealer adhesion to SPI epoxy when fresh is second to none.
