I came across this old thread that seems to be pretty informative on a recent post about the same subject. I called Pro Spray Tech Service and talked to a representative. He said in really hot weather (80-95 degrees) the base cures much faster than lower temps. They recommend 8 hours on the tech sheet simply becasue the longer you wait, the bigger the window for error. In his words, they "error" on the safe side, but he had personally waited longer than 8 hours and clear coated without issues.
