I'm a DIYer and I using all my new tools and supplies for the first time on a test car. I followed the instructions for epoxy and the first time I sprayed it, it turned out okay for the most part, but I did get a run. Here's the front section:
And here's the rear with the run:
I then applied body filler, and when I was done I wanted to apply another coat of epoxy since I had exposed so much bare metal. It had been about 60 hours since I first mixed up the epoxy, and it had been sitting in a sealed 3M PPS cup (I sprayed with the screen in the cup removed and no screen in the gun). I shook it up for 2 minutes before spraying. I hoped I would be good since it was within the 72 hour pot life, but as soon as it hit the paint it did something strange:
However it didn't do that on all areas. It didn't come through well in the pictures, but the lower areas didn't have this problem, but you can see it went on strange to the paper as well.
There are so many things I could have done wrong here it's hard for me to troubleshoot this. What does this look like to the experts? Do I just need to move the gun a lot faster? Should I have made a new batch of epoxy? Did I not clean the gun well enough between sessions?
