Question re painting doors and vertical panels

I had intended and unless you guys say different, I'm going to hang my doors in a way I can paint both sides and and all edges at the same time to avoid having a cold joint. I assume it should be vertical so that it lays the same as the paint on the body. I'm using HOK jet black, but I bastardized it and added 2% fine silver pearl. You can't detect it in normal light, but it highlights high points etc. in the sun. I can see it would be a lot easier to paint the door laying flat on stands, but I assume I need to treat this as a metallic paint and paint in the same position as it will be when its on the car? Any comments? Thanks, Bill

Always best to orient the panels as they would be on the vehicle. The other trick is to use the same exact technique as you did the rest of the job including gun adjustments and air pressure etc.. Base is far more forgiving then SS but still it is best to do it the same as the rest of the job.

X2 also in a not so perfect painting environment there seems to be more dirt when they are laying flat.
