Questions about sealing seam around roof drip moulding

I have no experience with this kind of stuff but eager to learn. The metalwork is about done on my 1972 gmc I have questions concerning sealing the roof drip mounding above top windshield and down side of door windows. Do I seal this before applying epoxy primer or would no “sealing putty” and only sand down to bare metal then epoxy?

On the drip rail of my 72 F100, I went down to bare metal and carefully removed all of the old seam sealer. Then put down several layers of epoxy before using a two-part self-leveling seam sealer. I then spent way more time than I had expected with sanding and working to get all the various seams of the roof rails and other body panels neat and uniform looking. Then applied a couple more layers of epoxy over the seam sealer.

Thanks for reply I’m all new at this body work stuff I also found what I was looking for in an old thread on this site which is a lot of help too. Thanks again

Also did you use the 3m 08308?

I used these two types depending on location and orientation of the seam, from SEM.
I tried to research here before selecting. Fusor, 3M and SEM all have their proponents.
