Sand Thrus need more epoxy?

Hey guys.

Applied epoxy on bare metal. Then filler with 80 grit to shape, then more epoxy followed by 3 coats of 2K primer. I just blocked out my 2K primer with 180 and it looks great. Have just a couple small sand thrus but the rest is ready for final prime, 600, seal and paint.

Question - If the sand thrus to bare metal are very small (much smaller than a dime), can I just hit with another coat of 2K and final sand before sealing and paint. Or do I need to hit the bare metals spots with epoxy.

I suppose I could just apply two coats of epoxy and final sand with 600 and skip the 2K. But, the 2K sands so much easier.

thanks. great products and great forum community.

You can just hit those small spots with a coat of epoxy, let it flash properly then proceed with your 2k and final sand.

Using epoxy is not a bad option though, rather than the 2k for the final sand.

It might take a bit longer but if you have the time..... 2-3 coats of epoxy unreduced with ample flash times. final sand with 600 then a reduced coat of epoxy as sealer then apply your base, activated. bullet proof really.
