Sanding new replacement sheet metal in prep for epoxy

I have been working on prepping some new replacement panels for my 65 Mustang and need some tool advice. As you can see in the picture the firewall has some recesses stamped in it. A 5"DA does not fit, a 3" almost, haven't tried a 2" as I am looking for 2" 80 grit disks. What other tool can you recommend for sanding these areas? I used a wire knot wheel on some of the recesses, but still have to back over with a DA anyway to get the finish right.

Thanks!
Rusty

I looked at your previous questions and noticed that you haven't mentioned anything about removing the cowl vent cover, which is notorious for having rust through areas under it on the Mustang. I have been working on a California Mustang with no other rust, but had to remove and repair both top and bottom cowl parts.
