Not sure if this is the right place to ask this so please move if there is a better forum.

I don't know anything about sanding paste. I've seen it mentioned here from time to time and have searched on it to learn more but would really appreciate it if you guys could tell me more about it. What is it? When should you use it? How do you use it?

Thank you in advance for any information you can give me.

Also is sanding paste only used with fine grit (400g to 800g) scotchbrites or can it be used with dark gray (160g) scotchbrite?

It's designed to enhance the scuff of gray scotchbrite. I have used it with maroon scotchbrite but that's about as coarse as you would use it with. And generally it's used only as a final scuff prior to paint.

I had saved or thought i did, bookmarks doesn't show it.Anyway it was in a thread that wasn't about paste but towards the end Chris had written a bit about paste.
Keep wet, keep pad loaded with paste, and scuff in circles is what I remember.

Raw plastic bumpers, panels that you are not sealing and are color blending are often sanded with 800 and gray scotch Brite and scuff stuff

Couple more questions -

Do I use the light gray scotchbrite / sanding paste wet?

how do I clean the car after using the light gray scotchbrite and sanding paste? Do I need to wash it or wipe it down with wax and grease remover?

Probably will have to remask it?
