Scaping the bottom of the can

I have a gallon can of high build 2k primer that has about 1/2" of primer left in the bottom of the can. It's probably 6 months old, it looks ok but it stirs like glue. Can I just add some reducer to thin it a bit so it will pour?

During the time you were using the primer, were you always sure to mix it really well, or is it possible that the thickness you are seeing now is excessive pigments and such that had not been stirred in over the life of the gallon?

If you reduce it you'll have to allow for the reducer when figuring out how much activator to use.
Otherwise you'll have the wrong ratio.

Well, if the thickness is actually caused by evaporation, adding the correct amount of solvent would fix the ratio. Problem is, it's not really possible to determine the correct amount of solvent with any accuracy.

It cannot be activated to the right ratio as the ratio of the hardeners have solvents also and not knowing how many solvents we lost, it is just a bad risk.
