I have a question regarding unopened activator. Found two quarts of unopened activator and a gallon of opened Universal clear. I had a lot of paint and clears of various manufacturers that have been sitting for quite a while. I was just going through it all and came across this SPI clear. Odd that I never used it since I have sprayed gallons of the best clear on the market (in my opinion) since then, the famous Universal 4000. It has been sitting in a climate controlled shop with a low temp of 55 and a high of 85. I had called tech to ask about shelf life, I thought the clear and activator were a couple years max. However, upon looking at the tags on the bottoms of the cans, I find they are nearly 5 years old! Would the unopened activator and opened clear possibly be good? Any way I can test other then spraying them out? I read Barry's comment from several years ago: "Best thing would be to open one and mix and see if gelled in 7-9 hours @70 or higher. Say a teaspoon of clear and activator." Would that still hold true for my case? Thanks!
