I have a 40x48 shop I'm trying to set up to do paint and body work in. I was hoping some of you guys could post some pictures to help me with some ideas.
 
What are you planning to do for a booth? are you going to purchase one, use curtains or something else?
 
I plan on building my own booth. Probably be 14'x30 '. Been reading everything on this site and others on diy booths.
 
Not a bad size... Most are to short.. When I first got into my building you could put a bus in my booth, it was a home made booth and it was really rough so I had to tear it down but to be honest I wish I would have just re-built it in the size it was.. I ended up buying a old binks booth and I always miss my big booth.. You could paint a car in pieces and still have room to do the whole car in the same session..

14' is average width, I think that is the width of my binks.. I would go a little wider if you have the room.. It's unnecessary but it's nice if the space is available.
 
mine is 16x25x11 . i made it taller to get the heat up away from me. car with open doors will crowd a 14 ft booth .
 
the extra 1 ft on each side is no big deal outside but makes all the difference inside. i have more lights in it now. 4 vertical lights for cast down the side for clear . paint booth.jpg
 
Looks good.. I would need more lower side lighting but that's just me.. I like it bright.. Downside in my booth is that my walls are not smooth so it absorbs to much.. I need to do something about that some day..
 
it is all metal studs. way cheaper .
chad that is the vertical light in the corners job. every few cars i clean and repaint the walls flat white. they kick a lot of light back to the bottom. i started to put a row down the wall but they would just be in the way . no my lights are not outside the booth .
