Shop truck project

Did you ever get this rig back on the road? If so how do you like it?

Nope sitting outside covered in snow. It's basically done though, just need tires and wheels. But I am avoiding purchasing those because then i will want to drive it.. lol.
Wait till you see the next part of this project though.. :)
I'm bound and determined to have everything the way I want it before I let myself be tempted to drive it.. I don't need it yet anyways.

I don't have enough room so the other part is going to a friends shop for a week... Should be interesting.. I'll post pics when we begin.

I feel like i am finally nearing the end of this project. Should be getting plated tomorrow. Only thing left is to finish the audio, which i need a few things first, and the tonneau cover. Which I will do later. Been a long winter project. Goal was to have it ready in time for spring. I think I did it.. lol..
Ended up having to do more fronts end work this week. Had to get ball joints put in, Just about everything else has been replaced earlier.
Here's a few pics. I would say it's time to rest but already started on the second part to the project. You guys will have to wait a few day for this one. :)

Heres the subs that will go in.

Guy posted this on the other forum i have this on.

"Man i hope the paint on the trailer works out for you. Weve NEVER had paint last on an enclosed trailer more than a year or so."

What issues would he be referring to, sold quite a bit of paint to go on trailers over the last 5 years and haven't seen any issues yet.

Chad, most people don't prep trailers properly as it's a PITA working with all those rivets-I would bet that's the failures he was refering to. I've done a few and never had any problems, one was very large and I had to match the graphics on the rich guy's diesel pusher motorhome,my gun arm was sore that day!

This thing was sanded very well, i'm pretty comfortable there. was sanded with 220, then epoxy, then paint. All the screws were sanded by hand also. Should be fine then.
I am curious about paint holding up around them as they expand and contract from the weather. Time will tell.

I bet the epoxy will flex enough or provide enough adhesion that it'll be fine.

Looks like its time for a set of air bags on the back of that big boy.

Your truck appears to set level when there is no load on the hitch, has it been lifted?
My truck sets about 2 inches high in the back without a load. My car trailer when loaded causes my truck to set near level.
A friends truck has been lifted in the front only because he wanted it to set level.
He had to add air bags to compensate for a load.

I have a leveling kit also. I may throw over load bags on it, I have a full system that was on my dually. But I don't know. we'll see if I find motivation for that. lol.

Thanks, right now it's down again, lift pump went out, going to replace it with a air dog. Hopefully do it this week or next, we will see.
